Ok, so I'm going to make some baked spagetti. To do this I need to make a Spagetti Sauce that I like. This is the base recipe that I'm going to start with and modify for my very own sauce. Spaghetti Sauce Recipe Submitted By: Douglas McNeill from Chesapeake. Spaghetti Sauce Notes Why buy the glass jar sauces? This recipe is super easy, fast and tasty. The use of small amounts of redolent spices gives this sauce interesting overtones. Ingredients
6-8 Servings Preparation Instructions Saute onion and garlic in oil, until onion is translucent. Meanwhile, saute hamburger (or prepare as meatballs). Then flood with warm water and drain in a colander, to remove fat. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, and all spices to the onion and garlic. Add the hamburger. Simmer to develop flavor. Serve over pasta noodles of choice. |

A better spagetti sauce to use.. ![]() Marcia's Wild Spaghetti Western Chili Recipe Submitted By: Marcia from Metzger. Ingredients
Heat a large pot of water to boiling and boil the Italian sausage links for 7-10 minutes. Then, drain sausage and allow it to cool. In large dutch oven or kettle, brown the ground beef in the olive oil. Drain off most, but not all, of the grease. Slice the Italian sausage links and add to the ground beef. Add the canned products to the kettle in the order given. Then add the chopped vegetables. Next, add the dry spices, one at a time. Finally, stir in the liquid smoke, the cayenne sauce and the shot of whiskey. Bring chili to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, for one hour, allowing chili to thicken slightly. Serve chili on top of spaghetti with a sprinkling of cheddar cheese. |

Then this is the baked spagetti (or in my case, linguini) recipe. 1 stick butter 2 eggs 1 cup grated Jarlsburg cheese 2lb Linguini (or spagetti if you prefer it) 3 cups cottage cheese Steps: 1. Place 2lb of Linguini in boiling water for 14 minutes (or until firm, but done.), then drain. 2. Mix butter, eggs, and cheese in with Linguiny while still hot. 3. In a greased casserole dish, place layers as follows: Layer of Linguini, Layer of Cottage Cheese, Layer of Spagetti Sauce. Repeat until dish is full. My recipie makaes about 7 quarts worth of casserole. ![]() Baked covered in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes, then uncovered for another 20 minutes. Allow to cool. |
